MOUNT CANIGOU

The mythical summit of the Catalan country. For more comfort, the ascent can easily be split over two days: a first day hiking up to the mountain hut, then the summit the following morning (via the Chalet des Cortalets or the Mariailles refuge).

  • Good hiker: 4–5 hours up to Chalet des Cortalets
  • Then: around 2 hours to reach the summit of Canigou

At the top: a 360° view over the Mediterranean, the Pyrenees chain and the Roussillon plain – one of the most spectacular panoramas in the region.
