The Pirinexus loop links France and Spain around the Pyrénées-Orientales over 353 km. This circular itinerary combines nature, culture and sport, connecting Mediterranean beaches with the foothills of the Canigou.

Pirinexus is a cross-border circular cycle touring route that connects territories on both sides of the eastern Pyrenees, between France and Spain. The main route stretches over 353 km, alternating cycle paths, greenways and scenic minor roads.

Main stages of Pirinexus

Le Boulou → Céret

Distance: 11.2 km

Developed paths along the banks of the Tech river, passing by the lakes of Saint-Jean-Pla-de-Corts, with water activities and picnic areas.

Céret → Arles-sur-Tech

Distance: 10.4 km

Converted former railway lines, monumental artworks and superb views over the Vallespir and the Canigou massif.

Arles-sur-Tech → Col d’Ares (Border)

Distance: 32 km

A sporty section along the D115 with significant elevation gain. The route then continues in Spain and returns to Le Boulou via the Mediterranean coast.

Col de Panissars → Le Boulou

Distance: 13.2 km

A mixed section, from challenging to easy, linking the Pyrenees to the Roussillon foothills.
