History & architecture

Built at the end of the 19thc century on the heights of Argelès-sur-Mer, the Château de Valmy shows off a Belle Époque silhouette designed by architect Viggo Dorph Petersen: light façades, slender turrets, bow windows and glazed roofs. The site went through the 20th century while preserving its vocation for hospitality and terroir, before a meticulous restoration relaunched its wine-tourism activity.

Activities, events & exhibitions

The park regularly hosts concerts, exhibitions and weddings. It is also an ideal starting point for walks towards the Albères or Racou beach. In summer, musical evenings and themed tastings are organised at the château.

Owners & management

Built by Jules Pams and Jeanne Bardou-Job during the Belle Époque, the estate was later taken over in the 20th century by the Peix family, then restored and energised by the Carbonnell family, current owners, who have turned it into a flagship of Roussillon wine tourism.
